Toronto's online trading prodigy,
13-year old Julian Marchese,
and Ron De Appolonia featured
on the CBC 10 p.m. news

The CBC followed up on our original story that appeared in The Toronto Star's Online Trading special section

Before creating FinanceSpa, editor-in-chief Jana Schilder was responsible for all the content of Online Trading, a quarterly section published by The Toronto Star, and she met  then-13-year old Julian Marchese.

Julian Marchese being interviewed by the CBC, in his combination bedroom-trading centre.

Julian, it turned out, had been interested for several years in the stock market and investing. But he did not know much, so he started researching investment education.

He ended up taking a very serious course at the Online Trading Academy, after meetings with the OTA's Canadian head, Ron De Appolonia, to clear the way for various legalities.

Julian graduated, and now has a sophisticated online trading system at home.

A few months after the story ran in The Star, the CBC television news followed up on the story.

An updated version of Julian's story is in FinanceSpa, right here.

Ron De Appolonia, general manager of the Online Trading Academy of Canada in Toronto, worked hard to ensure Julian could safely and legally take the OTA course normally aimed at adults.
